Like the flagship Founder's Reserve, it is a blend of single malt and single pot still whiskeys with no grain whiskey at all, triple distilled and aged in bourbon casks, but this version is bottled straight from the cask at 54.8% ABV (109.6 proof) in a small numbered batch.

The higher strength intensifies everything: honey, vanilla and orchard fruit on the nose, a full, oily palate of toffee, cereal sweetness and the peppery spice of pot still whiskey, and a long, warming finish. A few drops of water bring out more fruit and soften the heat.
